'Out & UP - Pinoy Queer Film Festival' organized by the UP Office for Initiatives in Culture and the Arts, the UP Diliman Information Office, the UP College of Mass Communications and the UP Film Institute, is calling for entries for local lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT)-themed full-length digital motion pictures. Deadline for submission of entries is on October 16, 2009.
Qualified entries for the main competition, dubbed as 'the Fab Five', will be screened for the duration of the festival with opening and closing festivities to be graced by distinguished personalities from November 23, 2009 to December 1, 2009. Forums, exhibits and more distinct events alternate as festival highlights. The festival shall unveil the result of a survey for the all-time best Filipino gay films and the first recipient of Fab Icon Award, a lifetime achievement honor for a celebrity figure much adored in the LGBT circles.
Official venues for the various festival events include the UP Film Institute's Cine Adarna, Ishmael Bernal Gallery and Videotheque.

TV5 has a special cooking treat for everyone this October in How 'Bout My Place Tonight? as award-winning actress Judy Ann Santos whips up your late night with her very own quick and easy recipe this Thursday, October 1, at 11:30pm.The show is a cooking clinic with Chef Fernando Aracama and Chef John Cu-Unjieng, the best chefs in the metro teaching you the masterful but practical art of cooking. Piolo Pascual leads the cast of the Pinoy adaptation of the hit tv series 'Lovers In Paris' along with KC Concepcion and Zanjoe Marudo. Today, September 28, 2009, is their pilot telecast replacing another hit tv-series 'Tayong Dalawa' which had a successful last week but received bad reviews for their last two episodes. 'Lovers In Paris' can be seen weeknights 8:30pm right after 'May Bukas Pa'.
Piolo Pascual's paternal grandfather was a German American and his paternal grandmother has mixed Spanish and Austronesian blood. He is a single father to a 9-year-old son named Iñigo.
Piolo's earliest acting experience was in the student theatrical group 'Teatro Tomasino' of the University of Santo Tomas. His early television credits include his stint as Kuya Miguel in ABS-CBN's educational show ATBP and as one of the many teen stars in GMA Network's musical variety show 'That's Entertainment'. His first big break on the small screen came via a weekly primetime series entitled 'Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako' (The Moment You Need Me), where he received an Asian TV Awards (1999) Best Drama Actor nomination for portraying the villain role of Raffy.
Piolo's early film credits include a brief appearance as Jussi Leino in 'The Untold Story: Vizconde Massacre 2 - God Have Mercy on Us'(1994) and a supporting part in 'Batang PX'(1997). Both filed a libel suit at once. But after eight months, Solis officially retracted the original story and the libel suit was dropped. Piolo finally has been cleared of rumors that he is a bisexual having relations with Torotot leading man Yul Servo, champion-belter Erik Santos, PBB heartthrob Sam Milby, and recently Pop Heartthrob Mark Bautista.

Last February 21, 2009, Piolo along with four hot hunks serenaded the people at the Araneta Coliseum. Piolo Pascual heads the hunky quintet with Sam Milby, Erik Santos, Christian Bautista and Mark Bautista. The guys produced the concert themselves and entitled the show 'Pop Icons'.

It was just announced by Mel Tiangco, Rufa Mae Quinto and Dingdong Dantes through Ondoy Kapuso Fundraising on SOP that Sylvia Sanchez is still trapped on the rooftop of their house in Filinvest. So is K Brosas and her child in West Riverside Quezon City. They are trapped by the sudden rise of flood caused by the unceasing rain of typhoon Ondoy. Classes are suspended tomorrow in Metro Manila for all levels.K Brosas is an actress and comedian who used to be part of the band 'Gladys and the Boxers with K' and was actually lead singer when the group started as K and the Boxers. She can be seen on the tv series 'Pat Is Tin' and 'Lovers in Paris' as Michelle.
